The brief for the Paarl Arboretum Park upgrade was to develop an interactive “Climate-Smart’’ River Park that will promote sustainable behaviour in the community and improve the capacity for climate change adaptation and mitigations on the principles of Re-use, Reduce and Recycle (RRR).

This project has included the development a climate smart classroom that followed these RRR principles, hence the use of a “used” container including rain water tank installation, a bicycle to generate electricity and eventually a composting unit, natural outdoor classrooms, new entrance & informational signage and natural play elements.

Completion is end June 2022.
