Rallim High School Landscape
Rallim High School Landscape Project included designing internal courtyards as well as all the external spaces, including classroom hubs, outdoor seating with pergola structures and general planting around the school.
INTERNAL SPACES:
The Internal Courtyards were themed according to surrounding classroom use ie Arts & Maths / Science.
Creative tension wire installations were used in all the courtyards to emphasize the theme as well as to support creeper growth which creates soft greenery throughout the spaces.
The internal planting of all courtyards includes trees, Indigenous water wise shade planting & creepers; the use of organic free shapes and colour in floor finishes with moveable seating.
EXTERNAL SPACES:
Classroom hubs are spaces that extend from the classrooms for the pupils. These are astroturf and moveable pebble seats as well as fixed seating walls. They will be semi-private through the planting of hedges separating parking from classroom.
A combination of private vs open seating areas covered by a tension wire pergola, with views of the sports fields and close to the main stage. Hedges and creepers will grow over the pergola structures providing shade.
All other external planting is Indigenous, water wise planting maintaining the same theme from the primary school , creating a continuity between the schools.
